Belarus’ Culture Days kicks off in Uzbekistan

Events to mark the Days of Culture of Belarus kicked off in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 4 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Culture Ministry.

The Belarusian delegation headed by Culture Minister Ruslan Chernetsky laid flowers at the monument to Yakub Kolas in Tashkent. The ceremony was attended by members of the Belarusian diaspora, who warmly recalled favorite lines from the works of the great Belarusian writer.

The opening concert will take place at the Alisher Navoi State Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theatre  in Tashkent later on 4 November. The audience will enjoy performances by renowned Belarusian ensembles, including the dance, music, and song company Belye Rosy, the Belarusian folklore band Kupalinka of the Belarusian State Philharmonic, the vocal group Chisty Golos, soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus Aleksandr Gelakh, People’s Artists of Belarus Vladimir Gromov and Anastasia Moskvina, as well as instrumental soloists of Zhinovich National Academic Folk Orchestra.

The program of the Days of Culture also features the traveling exhibition “Touch the Heritage with Your Soul” and master classes by folk artisans.

A traditional part of the program is the Days of Belarusian Cinema. Audiences will see five films: Klassnaya, Cultural Code, Filmmakers (directed by Kirill Khaletsky), Time to Return (directed by Ivan Pavlov) and The Black Castle (directed by Kirill Kuzin).
