Peak-reserve sources with a total capacity of 250 MW have been launched in the Vitebsk region
New peak-reserve sources, as noted by the General Director of RUE "Vitebskenergo" Andrey Panchenko , will increase the reliability and flexibility of the Vitebsk region energy system. The creation of a fast-acting power reserve will ensure coverage of peak loads, as well as the formation of optimal operating modes of the energy system in the conditions of the functioning of the Belarusian nuclear power plant.
- The equipment is highly maneuverable. Being in a constant readiness mode for launch, high-speed gas turbine units can deliver nominal power to the network within 15 minutes, - Andrey Panchenko emphasized.
The implementation of this project is also another step in updating the main production assets of the largest power plants in the region. Thus, five gas turbine units with a total capacity of 250 MW, five step-up transformers, general station modules and other high-tech equipment were erected at the sites of the Lukoml and Novopolotsk TPPs. All processes are fully automated, and control is carried out from the control rooms of power facilities.
The construction of peak-reserve sources was carried out within the framework of the integration of the Belarusian NPP into the energy system of the republic and became the final stage of a whole complex of technical measures, including in the Vitebsk region. Let us recall that the most large-scale of them are: the construction of a new high-tech substation "Postavy-330" and high-voltage power grids leading to it, the commissioning of modern electric boilers with a total capacity of 100 MW at the Lukomlskaya GRES and the boiler house "Severnaya" in Vitebsk.
During the ceremonial event, the directors of Lukomlskaya GRES and Novopolotsk CHPP, Kirill Matsarsky and Vadim Kulaga, were presented with symbolic keys to the new facilities, and the energy system employees were awarded certificates and letters of gratitude for their great personal contribution to the implementation of the projects.
