Polotsk commemorates 22 June, the start of the Great Patriotic War

 

In the run up to 22 June, the start of the Great Patriotic War, representatives of the Belarusian Women's Union laid flowers at the Urochische Peski memorial complex commemorating the victims of fascism in Polotsk.

It is the burial site of more than 40,000 prisoners of war of the Red Army, underground fighters, partisans and civilians - prisoners of the Dulag 125 transit camp, the Gromy labor camp, city prisons.
