The regional stage of the republican competition “I am a patriot of my country” is taking place in Vitebsk. The winners will have the opportunity to compete for participation in the Belarusian-Russian project “Memory Train”.

More than 20 tenth graders from different parts of the Vitebsk region take part in the regional stage of the competition. Among them are excellent students, volunteers, leaders of student government, activists of public organizations, students of military-patriotic classes, members of youth parliaments.

To the jury, schoolchildren presented an argument about the feat of the Belarusian people in the Great Patriotic War through the eyes of the modern generation, as well as creative speeches about their active work, successes and implemented projects.

Zakhar Kanash from Postavy secondary school No. 4 named after V. Frontov is determined to win. The young man heard a lot about the international “Memory Train”, and being in the project became a dream for him.

– At the regional stage I gave my all and I want to pass the regional selection with the same success. A large support group came with me; the school administration, friends and parents are also sick ,” said Zakhar Kanash. – In the competition we will show elements of drill training and read poems about our small homeland. I am sure that such competitions make it possible to raise young people in the traditions laid down by previous generations.
