Aleinik, Gugerotti discuss Belarus-Vatican cooperation

 

Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Aleinik met with the Papal Legate, Prefect of the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches of the Holy See, Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti in Minsk on 29 June, BelTA learned from the press service of he Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Papal Legate arrived in Belarus as a special envoy of Pope Francis to participate in the celebrations dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Coronation of the Budslau Icon of the Mother of God.

“The parties discussed the current situation in the Eurasian region and in the world in general, cooperation between Belarus and the Vatican in multilateral formats, bilateral relations at various levels with the Holy See. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to furthering the Belarusian-Vatican cooperation and strengthening the interfaith dialogue, peace and harmony,” the press service noted.
