Belarus’ gross agricultural output up 7.2% in January-August 2024

In January-August 2024 gross agricultural output in farms of all categories totaled Br20.8 billion in current prices, up 7.2% year-on-year, BelTA learned from the National Statistical Committee.

Agricultural enterprises manufactured Br18.6 billion worth of products, up 7.8% in comparable prices year-on-year.

The enterprises of all categories produced 1,226,900 tonnes of livestock and poultry (in live weight), which was up 4% year-on-year, 5,926,800 tonnes of milk (up 5.9%), 2,518.1 million eggs (up 13%). Agricultural organizations accounted for 97.7% of the national production of livestock and poultry (in live weight), 97.9% of milk, and 85.6% of eggs.

As of 1 September 2024, agricultural enterprises had 4.1 million head of cattle, including 1.4 million cows. The number of pigs stood at 2.3 million.
