Ekaterina Karsten wins World Rowing Cup in Lucerne

MINSK, 12 July (BelTA) – Two-time Olympic champion Ekaterina Karsten won the Women’s Single Sculls (W1x) in Lucerne, Switzerland, and the World Rowing Cup 2010. On 11 July Karsten won the final with the result of 7:31:27, two seconds ahead of Czech Mirka Knapkova. Frida Svensson of Sweden got her first World Cup medal since 2007. This season the 38-year-old Ekaterina Karsten was victorious at the world cups in Slovenia’s Bled and Germany’s Munich. For the three wins the Belarusian was awarded the World Cup 2010.
