FM: Belarus advocates for Syria's territorial integrity, sovereignty

Belarus advocates for Syria's territorial integrity and sovereignty, Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov said during the official visit to Damascus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus.

“The parties discussed in detail the international situation and regional conflicts, emphasizing the common interest in their early settlement. The minister emphasized that Belarus advocates for the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Syria within the internationally recognized borders of the country,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

Maksim Ryzhenkov emphasized the readiness to support the Syrian side in its work in international organizations to protect these principles and to lift the sanctions.

As BelTA reported, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maksim Ryzhenkov is in Damascus on a visit at the invitation of the Syrian side. He met with leader of Syria's new administration Ahmed al-Sharaa.
