Lukashenko visits Holy Intercession Church in Tolochin

On the bright holiday of Easter, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko visited the Church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God located on the premises of the Holy Protection Convent in Tolochin, BelTA has learned.

The history of the convent began with the construction of the Holy Protection Church in Tolochin in 1604. The church was built in the Vilnius Baroque style. This is the only church in Vitebsk Oblast that has been preserved in its original form since the early 17th century.

The Church of the Intercession of the Holy Mother of God has been active throughout its entire history, even during the Great Patriotic War. By 2016, reconstruction and restoration of the Holy Protection Convent had been completed.
