Last year, Belarusians traveled most to Russia. Director of the Department of Tourism of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism Irina Voronovich spoke about this in the BELTA project “The Country is Speaking”.

According to Irina Voronovich, last year Belarusians made the most trips to Russia. The department worked closely with the regions - memorandums, agreements and certain route projects were concluded.

Russians are also actively coming to Belarus. “This cannot but please us. Today we are talking about the development of cross-border routes with our neighbors, specifically with the border regions. They provide the opportunity for both Russians and Belarusians to travel on convenient terms,” said the specialist.
 
Also popular among Belarusians were the countries to which the flight program is carried out - Egypt and Turkey. The countries with which Belarus interacts through the SCO are also interesting.

In 2023, serious work was carried out in the Chinese direction. “This year it will be continued, because a memorandum has been signed and tourism operators with which the PRC interacts have been identified,” noted the director of the department.

In addition, direct flights with both China and India were opened last year. “The destinations of Asian countries are very interesting for Belarusians, because they have a completely different history and culture that will not leave a single person indifferent. They also have excellent ski resorts for lovers of active recreation and sports. We see that this is interesting for tourists,” - Irina Voronovich told.

Where did Belarusians prefer to vacation within the country last year?

In 2023, a gradual restoration of strength and interaction took place. “Of course, we need to strengthen what was laid down last year, as well as work with the regions of Russia, the SCO countries and in general, in all directions where there are air flights. An important component of tourism is logistics. When planning their vacation, people look at where more convenient and easier to arrive. There is a percentage of those who travel to Goa and Bali, but it is not as large as it was before the pandemic. Tourists are traveling little by little. We must pay tribute to the fact that there is also passion and love for their homeland," the speaker concluded .
