High profitability of Belarusian enterprises will help maintain the stability of the national economy in the conditions of rising energy prices, First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Vladimir Semashko said at the session of the Council of Ministers of Belarus on July 29. In January-May 2008, the profitability of the domestic products and services was 17.8% while the projected figure was 13%. “The prices for the Russian energy sources for 2009 have not been finalized yet. If the economic outlook is rather gloomy, the profitability of our enterprises will be a kind of buffer that will help our economy withstand skyrocketed energy prices,” Vladimir Semashko underlined.
